ISDE grant

Investeringssubsidie Duurzame Energie en Energiebesparing (ISDE) 2025.

Investment grant for sustainable energy and energy saving (ISDE) 2025 The Dutch government encourages sustainable investments and energy-saving measures through the ISDE. In 2025, €550 million will be available for solar boilers, (hybrid) heat pumps, insulation measures, electric cooktops, and connections to heat networks. Want to benefit from this grant?

Grant changes

Important changes as of January 1, 2025.

Roof insulation

The grant for roof insulation has been increased by €1.25 per square meter, bringing the amount to €16.25 per m².

Heat pumps

The grant for air-to-water heat pumps with a thermal output of 1 to 70 kW has been adjusted. The starting amount has been reduced to €1,250 (previously €2,100), with €225 for each additional kW (previously €150). The bonus for heat pumps with energy label A+++ is now €200 (previously €225).

Glass insulation

The grant amount for triple glazing has increased to €111 per m² (previously €65.50), and for HR++ glass to €25 per m² (previously €23). Additionally, homeowners can now apply for the glass insulation grant twice within 24 months, offering more flexibility in making homes more energy efficient.

Heat fund

Energy saving loan.

In addition to grants, the government offers the energy saving loan via the national heat fund. This loan is specifically designed for homeowners looking to make their property more sustainable. More information can be found on the national heat fund website — apply for an energy saving loan.

No additional fees

Loans through the heat fund do not include the usual extra costs such as advisory or appraisal fees. Private clients don’t even need a notary, which saves time and money.

The Heat Fund offers flexible loan terms for the Energy Saving Loan.

Key features:

Low interest: low interest rates, with households earning up to €60,000 eligible for 0% interest loans
Loan amount: you can borrow between €1,000 and €28,000
Loan term: depending on the amount, the term ranges from 7 to 20 years
Flexibility: early repayment is allowed without penalty, giving you more financial freedom

Save with solar panels

Grants and VAT advantage on solar panels.

No VAT on solar panels: since 2023, VAT on the purchase and installation of solar panels for homes and outbuildings has been reduced to 0%
Net metering scheme: this scheme allows you to feed excess electricity back to the grid and offset it against your own usage, improving the return on investment for solar panels
Local grants and loans: although there’s no longer a national purchase grant for solar panels since 2013, local grants may still be available. These vary by municipality and aim to promote sustainable energy generation
